Training for emergency organizations

Training for emergency organizations

On May 25th, on the initiative of the EOBV, a joint diving exercise was carried out with divers from the fire brigade and water rescue services. The aim was to put the various rescue divers under water in situations in which good cooperation with each other is essential.

Work activities such as drilling, screwing, lifting, salvage, etc. were carried out under water with a full mask including communication unit and surface monitoring, as well as with a diving helmet with communication unit and complete surface supply and monitoring. The good level of training of the respective rescue divers ensured a smooth process and an excellent solution to the tasks set.

In the course of this, the theoretical and practical skills in relation to work dives were tested by the professional diver candidates EOBV TL, ABI dF Stefan Pintz (LFV Styria) and EOBV TL, ABI Rahman Ikanovic (LFV Carinthia).

For each dive operation, 4 divers were working at the same time, an additional 3 safety divers and 16 men to carry out surface surveillance and safety.

We congratulate and thank everyone involved for taking part in the campaign, which, in addition to the purpose of further training, also promoted the good cooperation between the rescue divers from various rescue organizations.

Special thanks also go to our professional diving instructor Daniel Reger with his company Movienaut GmbH ( www.movienaut.at ) and his team for providing the necessary equipment and the logistics needed to handle such large-scale operations.
