Diving work
In terms of diver training, the following professional objectives apply in Austria:
- Signal person (canvasman)
- Research diver
- Diver for general diving work
- Professional diving instructor
In Austria, fulfilling the specified training criteria and passing the examination before an examination board of a state-authorized training institution is legally considered vocational training (certificates in accordance with the Fachkenntnisnachweis-Verordnung, FK-V, Bundesgesetzblatt, BGBI. II No. 13/2007).
The legal basis for the activities in this occupational field can be found in the Compressed Air and Diving Work Ordinance and in the Ordinance on Proof of Specialist Knowledge (FK-V), which apply to both recipients and issuers of instructions.
